LIGHT OF THE WILD -- Workshops
Interested in a workshop? You've come to the right place. The first thing to do is click "Contact Me" on the navigation bar and send me an email. I'll respond in a few hours and that will start the dialogue.
That said, I love working with students to improve their nature and landscape photography in the areas that I'm most familiar with. I conduct workshops primarily in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee but I'm willing to visit other locations upon request. Typical locations include Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Panthertown Valley, and the Cullasaja Gorge.
My workshops are a bit different in that I don't allow more than 4 students per workshop. When the number grows to 5+ folks, I start to lose the ability to spend quality time with each student and really focus on their goals and photographic needs. Which, in my opinion, is the entire point of the workshop. I love working one-on-one but I understand the draw of having a couple of friends taking the workshop as well, it makes it cheaper for everyone AND it's a lot of fun!
PRICES:
We'll meet around an hour or so before sunrise at a predetermined spot. The half-day will end after lunch (usually 1 PM or so) and the full-day will end up to an hour after sunset depending on the light. I take the lead on locations/times to be there but you're input is crucial and given a lot of importance. It's your workshop. If there is somewhere you'd like to be at a certain time, we'll make it happen! As far as instruction goes, every workshop is different. I typically have my camera with me to shoot and show particular concepts/ideas, but I don't "shoot" in the traditional sense of the word. I hang out, answer questions, review images with you and talk about anything and everything! Workshops are a lot of fun for everyone involved.
